Abstract: Good governance and rigorous oversight of the systems, policies and processes for introducing new technologies and/or clinical practices-to any healthcare setting is of the highest importance. This provides for assurance of patient-centred service delivery, clinical safety and appropriate utilisation within the needs and capabilities of a health service's infrastructure, according to the overarching clinical services plan and scope of practice. This article discusses the establishment of such a process in a private, not-for-profit hospital sector, the unique challenges faced and hopes to stimulate a comparative system discussion for healthcare leaders in aiming to further strengthen and improve good clinical and corporate governance of our health services.
