Background: Policy documents are essential for organisations and support the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care within healthcare organisations. Engaging staff in policies and policy management can be challenging, especially during a pandemic. Aim: To describe the approaches undertaken to increase engagement in policies for front-line staff through to senior management across our organisation. Conclusion: Simplification of processes and the implementation of a bespoke dashboard and engaging educational materials has resulted in greater oversight of policy currency, a reduction in burden on staff and increased end-user engagement. Key learnings: Understanding staff challenges helped ensure change ideas would be impactful and successful. Collaborating with key stakeholders during the dashboard design phase, established key requirements, which enhanced end-user engagement. Improving the visibility of document currency, together with regular engagement with Document Sponsors and Document Coordinators, has supported the progression of overdue documents.en_US
