Abstract: | Introduction: Endometriosis, affecting one in nine Australians, is characterised by the growth of menstrual tissues outside the womb, causing inflammation and scarring. Often, individuals suffer from undiagnosed symptoms for years due to the lack of accurate detection methods. Effective treatment, particularly for cases involving bowel, requires a multidisciplinary approach. This research project aims to enhance capacity, develop practical assessment tools, and improve patient care in endometriosis cases involving the bowel. Conclusions: The project being conducted as part of the OGB Co-designed Approach to a Regional Endometriosis Service (CARES) aims to enhance capacity, improve patient care, and build research collaborations to address the challenges of bowel-involved endometriosis. This multidisciplinary approach aligns with Epworth's commitment to evidence-based care and excellence in patient services. |
